The Indonesian Tourism Board organizes the Indonesian Tourism Village Award annually, showcasing outstanding destinations in Bali.
This year, three exceptionally unusual locations in Bali have been nominated for this prestigious award.
The Minister for Tourism and Creative Economies has recently been in Bali, visiting these shortlisted destinations and highlighting their appeal to international visitors. The three destinations featured on the shortlist are Serangan Tourism Village in Denpasar City, Manistutu Tourism Village in Jembrana Regency, and Kenderan Tourism Village in Gianyar Regency.
Bali is divided into nine administrative regions known as regencies, with Badung Regency receiving the highest tourism interest. It is home to renowned resort destinations like Canggu, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak.
The three tourism villages competing for the national award offer distinct and memorable experiences that are also deemed “Instagrammable” by Minister Uno. These villages are easily accessible from Bali’s more popular destinations, making them ideal day trip options for travelers with various preferences.
Minister Uno expressed his admiration for Serangan Village, describing the tourism experiences there as “world-class.” He particularly highlighted the procession of releasing turtle hatchlings, which symbolizes sustainable development. Serangan Village offers pristine coastlines, charming resorts, and numerous coves and shallow shorelines to explore, not to mention breathtaking sunsets. It is conveniently located just a 20-minute drive from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, as well as central Kuta and Sanur.
Whether you are a repeat visitor to Bali seeking new places to explore or a first-time tourist looking for a beach getaway close to the action but away from the hustle and bustle, Serangan Village is highly recommended.
Another unique destination shortlisted for the Indonesian Tourism Village Award is Manistutu Tourism Village in Jembrana Regency. The west side of Bali is undergoing significant tourism redevelopment, and Manistutu is setting high standards for the region’s future tourism experiences. The Regent of Jembrana expressed his love for Manistutu Village and hopes that the attention brought by the awards will attract more tourists to the area, benefiting the local economy.
According to local tour guide Ketut Master, nature lovers will be enthralled by what Manistutu has to offer. Visitors are encouraged to engage in activities such as tree planting and other nature-oriented experiences.
The term “Tourism Villages” encompasses both small, grassroots tourism initiatives and larger resorts like Kuta Village and Legian Village, which are major hotspots in Bali.
Kenderan Tourism Village in Gianyar Regency, located north of central Ubud, is already a popular destination for both international and domestic tourists. Many visitors consider it an extension of Ubud itself. With its superb jungle resort hotels and stunning natural landscape waiting to be explored, Kenderan Tourism Village is a strong contender for the Indonesian Village Tourism Awards 2023.
Regardless of the results, these three unique destinations will undoubtedly attract significant attention during the competition, and the crowds are already on their way. If you want to be among the first tourists to discover these hidden gems, it is advisable to plan a trip to Bali soon!
